LOWER STREET SOCIAL CLUB

ABOUT US

Southrepps Social Club  came into being as the result of a generous donation by a local person many moons ago. It is now run and maintained by a committee of thirteen people.

It has progressed to allow women members (who else would do the catering and cleaning). The kitchen is small but adequate with matching crockery and cutlery.  The cooker is domestic size but has been known to have cooked meals for up to 50 people.

The clubroom is a good size with a full size billiard table at one end,  leaving plenty of room for tables and chairs to be used. The room is heated by electric wall heaters and there are also convector heaters at one end. One male and one female toilet.

There is limited parking in a small car park opposite.

The club has a successful carpet bowls team who belong to the Broadland league and play at home and away.  A carpet bowls session is £1.50 with drink and biscuit.

Another regular activity is our bingo on the 1st Saturday of every month except January.  We have a Strawberry Fair every July, this year it will have Craft stalls as well.

Our members enjoy a barbecue every August and there is always a quiz in June in aid of a local charity. Various other events occur during the year, we try to do something each month. Our final event of the year is our Christmas dinner which we now go to a local venue for.

Club membership is £6 per person per year, members get a discount on any events held.

The rates to hire the hall for events are very competitive, for information regarding hiring the hall or any other queries ring Ruby on 01263 833481, she will be pleased to help.
